The Silberiris decor was invented between 1899 and 1900. It is one of the most iridescent decors developed by the art glass studio Loetz Witwe Klostermühle and was used for Vases made for the world exhibition 1900 in Paris. Also, some famous designers like Koloman Moser and Josef Hoffmann discovered this simple but very impressive decor for their designs. Also, the famous vienna enterprise E. Bakalowitz chose this decor for some of their designs.
The blueprint of this vase bears the impressions made on the world exhibition 1900 in Paris. The five imprints on the upper wall and the waveformed rim have their origins in these blueprints.
