In the 1920s, the citizens of Europe were fascinated by foreign lands and amongst others, Africa was the centre of interest of the masses. The Paris Colonial Exhibition in 1931 counted unbelievable 33 million visitors in six months. The Werkstatte Hagenauer produced their first figures in the African style during that time and had great success with their objects.
Out of the African series we present a rare rowboat with a single African child. The boat is marked and in a very good condition.
