Depictures of animals were an all-time favourite during the production time of the Werkstätte Hagenauer. In the late 1930s the stylistic elements of the workshop’s designs changed, and their style transformed to a “new realism”. Excessive ornaments and shapes were replaced by clear, slim and flat design elements.
This deer was made as a final prototype for series production. Welding marks on the belly and the behind are very typical for those kind of pre-models and such pieces are almost never seen on the open market.
