At the end of the 1930s, female forms found their way into items like mirrors or candelabrums. Later, the two Hagenauer brothers Franz and Karl designed impressive busts and reliefs in which the female body was the main motive. The range of these items varied from big to small, from erotic depictions to athletic poses. All were aesthetic and exceptionally fine crafted.
This figurine was made around 1940. The fine dynamic and the tranquil graceful appearance are typical for the designs of the Hagenauer Brothers. The figurine is marked with „Made in Austria“, „Hagenauer Wien“, „Handmade“, „wHw“.
