In 1914 the association "Werkbund" in Cologne organised an exhibition for arts and crafts. The austrian "Werkbund" was also represented, among them some of the greatest austrian designers like Hans Bolek, Michael Powolny and Josef Hoffmann. Hans Bolek was a pupil of Josef Hoffmann and is very famous for his tasteful floral designs.
The brooch has a wonderful design by Hans Bolek. The emanel is in a perfect condition. The silver has a smooth electric gold plating. There are several marks on the backside, including the austrian tax mark for silver, 750 silver fine, another mark for export wares and an unknown mark.
