Founded in the year 1903 by the two architects and members of the Vienna Secession Koloman Moser, Josef Hoffmann and the industrial magnate Fritz Waerndorfer, the Wiener Werkstatte was a pioneering project in the European art region. Through close cooperation with craftsmen and designers, art objects of, until then, unknown quality and expressive power were created. The most reknown architects and artists of the time designed various objects from metalworks through leathercovers to fashion and ceramics.
