Floorlamp "Onyx"

This lamp constitutes one of the artistic highlights in glass craftsmanship of the Loetz Witwe Klostermuehle. Another object of this type is located in the Böhmerwaldmuseum in Bergreichentstein, directly acquired from the house of Max Ritter von Spaun, the owner of Loetz Witwe Klostermuehle. Semi-precious stone imitations made by Loetz were priced with several grands Prix from different world exhibitions and were in high demand by the customers of Loetz. Produced with a very complex and costly process, “Marmoriertes Glas” is one of the earliest products of Loetz Witwe Klostermuehle. The manufacturing process was even privileged by the Austrian empire and the owner of the manufacture, Max ritter von Spaun, received several decorations for his work. This lamp is anexceptional historical example of European historistic glass craftsmanship.
