The Argus decor was created in the year 1902. In the books of Ploil and Prestel this decor is refered to as "a very complex motiv with intarsia eyes". It was also used for some of the blueprints by Koloman Moser.
The blue eyes on the maroon ground are highly iridescent and have rich juwel colours. The silver overlay has a very seccessionistic touch and refers clearly to viennese influence. The polished pontil is engraved with the numbers "216".
